Santa Maria Style BBQ Catering

We keep the tradition of Santa Maria style BBQ in all our meals. We cook only on red oak wood that we get from the Central Coast 2 or 3 times a year. We cook only with dry rubs and serve salsa (Santa Maria Ketchup) with all our meals. We hope you will choose us for your event and become part of our Rocking P BBQ family.

A Taste of Our Story

Meet the Rocking P BBQ Family

We lived on the Central Coast where great weather means the smell of BBQ in the air year round. There are no less than 10 barbecue pits selling tri tip sandwiches on the streets in Santa Maria every weekend. Our family had an arena where we held various events like team roping and barrel racing. People came after work to practice and compete in those events. There was always a tri tip on the grill when we were finished practicing. Friends would stay to enjoy some delicious barbecue.

The family moved to Redding and brought our love of Santa Maria Style BBQ with us, along with a small pit and some red oak wood. We loved serving up BBQ to our friends and seeing their satisfied grins. After many backyard barbecues and hosting events for friends, Rocking P BBQ was born.

We started with a borrowed pull behind trailer and totes full of supplies and now have a fully contained BBQ trailer. We hook up, pull up, and dish out! We are family owned and operated, and that means we put a lot of love into our dishes. We take immense pride in delivering outstanding, good quality food. Homemade ingredients combined with excellent presentation and very particular owners, means that we leave every event with a crowd of smiling faces. We wouldn’t want it any other way. Get in touch!
